Lenses and mirrors must be mounted on something, and here is where Ticona’s Vectra® liquid crystal polymer (LCP) can come into play. The extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion of Vectra LCP grades makes them excellent candidates for applications such as lightweight optical benches undergoing extremes of temperature – satellite optics, for example.
