Inform 10/2007 - The Ticona Customer Magazine

Dear Readers,

Germany is producing more thermoplastics than ever before: a total of 18.5 million tonnes last year! Prospects bode well for this year, as well. But profitable growth takes strong partners. Under the motto “Create Progress. Together!” our K 2007 trade fair stand shares insights into our applications, ideas and visions for a common future with you in the areas of Power, Safety, Life and People.

And speaking of the future: Ticona is growing and changing. We will be moving within Germany from Kelsterbach to the Industrial Park in Frankfurt Höchst. The world’s largest and most modern polyacetal plant will be constructed there over the next four years. Out of over 50 locations that tendered bids to accommodate the facility, Höchst fulfilled all requirements – from the infrastructure to convenient, reliable supply of raw materials. The decision to keep the production opera-tions in the Rhine-Main area sets the course for the future – both for the people who work for Ticona and Ticona’s Customers.

There is also news to report from Ticona’s management ranks. In July, Sandra Beach Lin took over as President of Ticona and Executive Vice President of Celanese succeeding Lyndon Cole, who has retired. Under Sandra Beach Lin’s leadership, the company will maintain its direction in terms of growth and innovation in the high performance polymers sector.

This latest Inform customer magazine aims to whet your appetite with a foretaste of the many other topics of importance to us, now and in the future. We hope you find it enjoyable reading, and we look forward to the opportunity to engage in stimulating dialog with you at the K trade fair.

Sincerely,
Carsten W. Wörner
Director Sales & Marketing Europe
