Ticona’s Florence, Kentucky, facility is home to the company’s Americas headquarters and research and development center. This site contains all the resources need to commercialize the company’s polymers, from product and application development to marketing and customer service. Its R&D capabilities extend from polymer development and formulation though scale-up and production and involve a wide range of equipment, such as advanced analytical and physical testing instrumentation and full-size molding machines.

The facility also houses an Advanced Color Development Laboratory that emphasizes both appearance and function. This state-of-the-art capability is equipped with an advanced color matching system and can formulate thousands of colors for use in automobiles, appliances, consumer goods and other products.  We are known in the industry for response time and accuracy in matching colors and for research on new colorants, special-effect pigments and UV stabilizers. Beyond this, the specialty processing facility in Florence compounds glass, minerals, colors and performance additives with the company’s polyester, LCP, PPS and acetal copolymer (POM) products so they look, perform and process better.
