Ultrasonic welding and assembly of engineering plastics

Ultrasonic welding is a very cost-effective method of joining plastic components and provides high-strength, gas- and liquid-tight joints. The method has proved particularly suitable for long runs because of the very short welding cycles. This brochure explains the welding operation and factors affecting weld quality, gives detailed notes on the design of joint surfaces and contains numerous weld strength graphs. In addition, the brochure discusses ultrasonic riveting, flanging and insertion of metal parts and presents some application examples.
